Though you linger, it is final 1954 -2013

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 10, 2013, 3:17 PM

3/10 - I want to extend my thought, thank yous, and so many prayers for all of you here --fans, members, visitors, and friends. I know that this is not my loss alone. It is ours ..it is the world’s loss. It’s been a odd blend of balancing personal friend w/ the feeling of a loss of nostalgia; of era. I hate it when my age hits me in my face like this!

People have asked, but understandably NO photos will be offered via PNT from the service out of respect. This is the personal wishes of the immediate family. This is not a wrestling angle/script so therefore it is not something to ‘entertain’ us. Things like this are personal and I know in advance that you all understand the difference.

MEGAN’S JOURNAL

3/9/13 Saturday/Sunday 1:27am

‘I think I know what it is that I’m afraid of. I’m afraid that as the days move on into weeks that the fresh novelty of your death will begin the wane ...The post will become fewer and the memorials less noticed. In that instant you will begin to disappear. You will truly be gone from us. I know that you are. I’m not in denial. But for this moment your presence lingers.’

3/9/13 - Saturday 7:19am

I saw you in repose. You’re head on the pillow was just the tenderest angle to your shoulder; your lips just the slightest bit parted. You could be sleeping and I’d be comfortable believing that had it not been for the atmosphere just outside the doorway. It all looked like Victorian era post mortem --That hurried desperation to capture some vague pall of life whilst it is still yet there upon the expression before it disintegrates. Of hot-pained grief seeking a means to be expressed adorn with lavish cradles of lace, ribbon, and abundant flowers.

I could make light of this; pass it off and say it is my lack of sleep these last few evenings, but I could have sworn that I heard you answer the night before when I spoke of you. I fell asleep still responding to you. I’m such a rag right now! I’m just all bled out, so damned tired, I don’t even know what all I said. I wrote some down though. It was 11:12pm.

Mothers shouldn’t have to bury their child ...much less two of them. God, his mama. His papa. Dear Lord. I can’t stop thinking about them. :( I’ll ask the fans to pray for them.

I want to stay on the phone as much as possible it seems because I know that the moment I hang up is when the silence sets in all over again. Where I was laughing about silly memories not a moment before, reality of loss comes and steals it away. Images, reverberations of memory full of light now far away. But there is an horrible, slow and unstoppable wave coming, destroying all this without mercy. The storm of the thoughts maybe. Terrible and beautiful at the same instant. In as little as a half-hour my emotion shifted from some type of joy, back to sadness, and then I was suddenly angry. I’m angry that you went to the reunion show! You should have been in the hospital right then! You should of when we spoke about it that Friday. I’m angry that you’re not here! :( Why’d you have to go?! Why’d you have to leave me too?! But just you wait. Another 10 minutes or so I’ll be happy that you’re in her arms.

Sincerely,

Megan Seekings

OFFICIAL OBITUARY NOTICE

MOODY - William "Bill" Moody, age 58, went to be with the Lord and his wife, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. William loved his kids and grandkids more than life itself. His second love was his profession. "Moody" graduated from McGill Institute in 1972; shortly after, he enlisted in the Air Force. He loved the City of Mobile and local sports. He could always be seen at the Mobile BayBears games and rarely missed a Mobile Mysticks Hockey game. His favorite saying when returning from a trip and landing in Mobile was, "Wheels down in Sweet Home Alabama". He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Dianna Moody, brother, Harry "Bubba", and his grandson, Troy. He is survived by his children, Michael (Beth) Moody, Daniel (Jami) Moody, grandkids, Grace, Danielle, Hope, parents, Harry and Clarice Moody, sister, Joan (Art) Garrett, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Wow ...Who can assess grief? Who can measure its magnitude? Does another feel much more? Is there a position or order that speaks: ‘He deserve more. She love more. They care more. Closer. Further?’ Although circumstances introduced us to this special man all differently and individually —some of us by birth, some by marriage, others by sheer or strange fate, a TV set, we are all brought here together today all united and equal in our sorrow.

I thought hard what I could say here, but didn’t get it out before I left. It could only be in moments such as this where words leave me abandon. How can any of my shared thoughts, saying he was indeed a unique and rare treasure, encompass the broadness of the truth? My heart is cleaved straight clean through. That evening and first day it came in waves all morning and afternoon long ...weep *pause* weep *pause*. I slept about 2 hours Tuesday night and I swear it is the closest I have ever come to having an out-of-body experience. I took two xanax and still was not able to put myself to bed until almost 5:30 in the morning. I was awake again @ 8.

I apologize. If I’ve not yet responded to everyone or missed any comments. As y’all might expect, it has been very busy @ the house. There’s just SO many calls, visitors, and messages. We’re all hurting so bad and I’m trying to reach everyone w/ replies as quickly as I can in this whirlwind rush. Last night a message went up from Percy’s son to inform everyone that he would be turning off his father’s ability to post message on his wall out of respect for now ....Reality never quite felt so firm. I mean you know, yes, but there’s always that one thing to make it ‘final’. For myself it was the plain fact that just might be the last time the phrase: “William Moody has updated his status” will appear in my notifications. I had to step away. I fell to pieces all over again.

Mentioned on my Facebook earlier, many of you are fans. Others are not. Some of you weren’t even aware that was actually him here at all on my Facebook as I never went out of my way to glorify that fact. Obviously, now you do. If you are a fan, or are just simply aware of/member of Plots-n-Tombstones (PNT), I am hard pressed to express to you all the depth of our Uncle Paul’s involvement. PNT turned 21 years old in November. At the risk of what may sound as a boast or gloat, though I swear it is not, it is the eldest, longest-running fan club for Undertaker/Paul’s many fans. Percy went above and beyond dedication to make a lot of things possible in those old school, pre-internet days of the early 90's. He set the meetings, made possible the delivery of fan mail, autographs and photo opportunities. No doubt at all this made PNT quite unique in a very huge universe where so many want to stand out.

And we all want worth ...to have a purpose of worth. We all want to experience value. Each and every one of us want to know whether we truly succeed in touching the lives of others around us, or is the effort just vain? Percy never once failed to make me feel that all I did had incredible value and that was so, so, so deeply important to me. It really was. I’ve often said: “Who was I? Who was I to deserve it? And I was so young and ridiculous *lol*

Those commitments did NOT end when Percy left WWE TV. We were always in contact, involved through the numerous evolving mediums of internet life: First email, then messageboards and blogs, and finally Facebook and Twitter. He was Undertaker’s manager until the very end and so appreciated each and everyone of you all. If you were good to him, you were his friend. I think you all need to know this. He was truly our (my) foundation and cement. Years passed by and he became less a TV character and much more family and treasured friend to all of us. My daughters grew up with him, know him since they were babies ....Poor Jewel is just INCONSOLABLE, perhaps even more than myself. And when I lost my mother to breast cancer in January 2008, he became a surrogate filling that void in my heart as she was also born in 1954. Not that I expected him too, it just happened that way. And when he lost his wife to the same exact thing in the same month only a year later, I completely understood. There were days I survived purely by the honor of his morning hello —the charming gentleman with a smile like the deep sunny south he hailed.

Sincerely,

Megan Seekings

Our Dearest Uncle 1954-2013

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 6, 2013, 6:32 AM

3/6 - -- I must beg your forgiveness in advance for any typos that are likely to happen, or if my words are not as formulate as they might otherwise be. I’m honest informing you that I slept less than an hour last night, not even attempting to put myself to bed until 5-5:30am this morning.

Most of you here --fans here, friends here, or you’re visiting here having found us due to the news last night. You’re aware (or you are now becoming aware) that William Moody, better known to the world and nations of squared circle fans as WWE manager ‘Paul Bearer’ (Percy Pringle III), passed away in the evening.

If the fact I have not slept is any indication at all, myself --my whole family-- are beside ourselves in painful grief. A world of wrestling fans mourns the loss of Paul Bearer. Some of you are mourning the loss of Percy Pringle. Though I am as well, as a friend that contacted me earlier said, what I am mourning most is the loss William Moody who was a dear and precious friend for so, so many years. Such a privilege. What a blessed, blessed, blessed member of our family. For every memory I’m recalling in these passing hours, 400, 800, 1000 more rush to take their place.

We’re so hurting LORD. Our sorrow is so intense. Pity us dear Heavenly Father with your courage to endure.

I will be heading to Mobile tomorrow. If you are a fan or friend and would like to offer some thoughtful word here for the family, I will print those off to share before I leave out as long as you provide them before 6pm on March 7th.  Please, no fan letters, etc., I think y’all know the type I’m meaning. This is a serious nature and I request your respect.

Sincerely,

Megan Seekings
